OVERVIEW
Use bFAX to create and transmit facsimile versions of your existing documents using your HPC and a standard Class 2 or 2.0 PC Card fax/modem.
- To create a New Fax, tap the New Fax button or choose New Fax from the Fax menu.
- A new item appears in the Fax Workspace. (Tip: Now is a good time to rename the fax simply by typing.)
- Faxes act like folders, holding information about which documents are to be sent to which recipients. When a fax is selected on the left, its recipients and documents show up in the list windows on the right.
- Add at least one document and one recipient to a fax, and the fax stays ready to send.
- To preview a fax, tap the Preview button or choose Fax Preview from the Fax menu.
- A fax moves to the Outbox when you choose to send it, and disappears from the Outbox when the delivery succeeds.
- A record of information about each successful transmission is stored in Sent Items for your reference.

MORE ABOUT DIALING LOCATIONS
Before dialing, be sure that bFAX is set to use a properly configured Dialing Location. To configure a Dialing Location on your HPC, from Start choose Settings, then open "Communications Properties" and select the Dialing tab. Use Dialing Locations to:
- Control whether area codes are dialed.
- Control how international calls are dialed.
- Control special prefixes. The default Work Dialing Location, for example, dials a "9" to access an outside line.
- Bypass Dialing Locations. Select "Don't Use Dialing Locations" on the bFAX Dialing Preferences tab if you prefer to have phone numbers dialed exactly as they appear in the Recipient window.
